This transformative course trains HSI faculty to become leaders in culturally responsive instructors in the specific context of a Hispanic Serving Institution. Participants experience demonstrations of high-impact teaching/learning practices, receive crucial implementation advice from HSI practitioner-advisors, and learn how to measure quantitative changes to Latinx student engagement and learning in their courses.

STEM-focused conversations about teaching practices

$2,000 per person*, offered 2x in Summer 2025. Take this course self-paced in early Summer or live on Zoom in late Summer!

This course is facilitated by working STEM faculty in HSIs across the country. Unpacks the cultural disconnects Latinx students experience in higher ed, and particularly in STEM. Each of the six sessions introduces an evidence-based practice and implementation examples that will help faculty provide a more culturally responsive learning experience for Latinx students in STEM courses.

In-person immersive retreat, for a team of 15-30 from your HSI

$40,000 per team

This program is designed for HSI teams of practitioners (admin, staff, faculty, and students) who wish to work collectively on campus-wide efforts to create movement towards 'serving' for Latinx and Hispanic students. HSI teams will get support in understanding how to change their institutional culture from a Predominately White Institution to become truly serving of Latinx students.

A way to build your antiracist, liberatory muscle for serving Latinx students and leading culture change through everyday work. The series of modules builds cultural competence for working with Latinx students and focuses on practical ways practitioners can become institutional agents of change.

Live on Zoom, 4 sessions (1 meeting/week)

$2,000 per person. 

• Fall Wednesdays Cohort runs weekly on Wed October 1* to October 29, 2025. 

All cohorts will run from 9:00-11:00 am (PT). *Orientation for both offerings will occur 1 week before the first live session. 

This program guides practitioners in leadership positions on principles of culturally responsive facilitation. These are tried and true practices that we demonstrate in our educational courses and have spent the past 10 years modeling, refining, and testing with diverse practitioner groups. This course is required for any practitioner who is applying for a facilitation position in our National Programs.
