This program teaches practical strategies for leading dialogues in diverse workplace or institutional settings. It is particularly valuable for those who routinely lead and/or participate in discussions of equity, race, and identity. The program raises awareness of how monocultural norms in workplace settings can unintentionally reinforce inequities within diverse teams doing equity work. Participants learn to incorporate their own cultural identities into their dialogic work while challenging the status quo to foster more inclusive, collaborative environments for advancing equity.
ESCALA's facilitator team will guide participants through strategies we have field-tested that create space for more effective conversations across lines of difference. Participants will learn how to design inclusive spaces that equitize speaking and listening, engage participants across varying levels of readiness, and foster meaningful dialogue with diverse groups of people. This cohort-based workshop offers a reflective and practical space to fine-tune your facilitation skills, build confidence, and join a growing network of culturally responsive facilitators across diverse organizations.
